KRETA LAND THYME HONEY is a family owned company that follows a long tradition of beekeeping. It was founded by people with extensive experience in the production of pure-virgin cretan thyme honey. Company is located in the village ofSTERNES (GORTYNA Municipality) at the outskirts of the ASTEROUSIA Mountains in southern CRETE.Our intention was to make well known and easily accessible to everyone, the nutritional treasure that the unique biodiversity of our place generously offers.The areas in which our bees are located at Asterousia Mountains (MARIDAKI) and Mount Dikti (SELAKANO), are protected by the pan-European NATURA 2000 network, because of their unique environmental importance, which is due both to their geographical isolation and limited human presence.The seaside coast at MARIDAKI and the virgin pine forest at SELAKANO create pure natural environmental conditions for the production of a high nutritional value treasure, the “KRETA LAND” honey.
